Credit Card Debt Management Advice
You're addicted. It's OK to admit that. Go ahead. Look at those little plastic cards you carry and use constantly and then look at the bills you accrue with them and say to yourself "I need credit card debt management." It's perfectly fine if you do - we've all made a mess of our finances at one point or another and credit cards just facilitate the impending ruin that is your TRW report. Now, what can you do about this? What is credit card debt management all about? Read on and find out more about the debt management service that might be right for you.
Credit Card Debt Management - Be Aggressive
You're going to want to get a copy of your last few months' credit card bills and examine what you're paying for with them. For instance, if you're using that debit card every time you hit Starbucks for a triple venti mocha with soy, that's another $5 in credit card debt that you're racking up without thinking about! Twenty of those a month (and don't tell me you're not getting that sugar-free blueberry lemon loaf at least a few times) and that's another hundred dollars. You're racking up a lot of damage that way and right there, using cash to pay that instead of your credit card? That's credit card debt management before you even sign up for any sort of fancy debt management program.
Now, outside of doing simple things like that, what qualifies as good credit card debt management? The first thing you want to do is contact all of your credit card companies and figure out which one can put you at the lowest APR. Initiate a balance transfer of all your card to that one card and then cut those other cards in half and cancel those accounts. Then, aggressively work to pay off that one credit card's debt. We're talking about a slash-and-burn approach to credit card debt management, basically making sure that you beat your credit card debt into submission and then forcing yourself to pay that sucker off. This may not be the fanciest way of handling credit card debt management, but it's one that works. Think of it as a simpler version of a credit card debt consolidation program, which many companies offer.
This form of a debt management service basically contacts the firms and gets them to lower their interest, pays them off, then charges you for the services each month in a check to the debt management programs company that handles your consolidation. This is appealing for a lot of people, but you may want to consider instituting your own program before turning to outside assistance.
Whatever your debt management solution of choice make sure that you stick with it until the debt has disappeared. That is the key to your success with any of the many and varied debt management services there are to choose from.
